Cultural & Religious Gatherings

​

We proudly host annual Eid celebrations that bring together members of the Zaghawa community and the wider Australian community in a spirit of unity, friendship and cultural celebration. During the holy month of Ramadan, we organise weekly community gatherings and Iftar events, welcoming people from different communities to share in fellowship, understanding and mutual respect.

Community Advocacy & Awareness

​

The Union actively participates in community, government and public events to raise awareness about the Zaghawa community and the humanitarian challenges facing the people of Darfur and Sudan. We engage with government representatives, community leaders and partner organisations to promote understanding, encourage dialogue and advocate for peace, justice, and humanitarian action. In recent years, we have participated in advocacy events highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, including campaigns supporting the people of Al-Fashir and raising awareness of the ongoing conflict and violence affecting communities across Sudan.

Community Support & Solidarity

 

Supporting one another during times of hardship is a core value of our community. We assist families during times of bereavement by helping organise funeral and memorial services, providing practical support and bringing the community together to honour and remember loved ones. We also support newly arrived members of the Zaghawa community as they settle in Australia. Through guidance, community connections and practical assistance, we help individuals and families navigate their new environment and build a strong foundation for their future.

Building Connections

 

As part of our commitment to fostering strong relationships, we regularly attend events hosted by other cultural, community and faith based organisations. These engagements strengthen partnerships, encourage cultural exchange and contribute to a more inclusive and connected Australian society.

Through our events, advocacy and community support initiatives, Zaghawa Union Australia continues to promote unity, preserve cultural identity and serve the needs of our community while contributing positively to the wider Australian community.

الفعاليات الثقافية والدينية

نفخر بتنظيم احتفالات عيد سنوية تجمع أفراد مجتمع الزغاوة وأفراد المجتمع الأسترالي الأوسع في أجواء تسودها الوحدة والصداقة والاحتفاء بالثقافة. وخلال شهر رمضان المبارك، ننظم لقاءات مجتمعية أسبوعية وموائد إفطار، نستقبل فيها مشاركين من مختلف المجتمعات والثقافات لتعزيز روح الألفة والتفاهم والاحترام المتبادل.

المناصرة المجتمعية ونشر الوعي

​

يشارك الاتحاد بفاعلية في الفعاليات المجتمعية والحكومية والعامة بهدف التعريف بمجتمع الزغاوة وتسليط الضوء على التحديات الإنسانية التي يواجهها أبناء دارفور والسودان. ونعمل مع ممثلي الحكومة وقادة المجتمع والمنظمات الشريكة لتعزيز الوعي، وتشجيع الحوار البنّاء، والدعوة إلى السلام والعدالة والعمل الإنساني.

وخلال السنوات الأخيرة، شاركنا في العديد من الفعاليات والمبادرات المناصرة التي سلطت الضوء على الأزمة الإنسانية في السودان، بما في ذلك الحملات الداعمة لأهالي الفاشر، وجهود رفع الوعي بشأن النزاع المستمر وأعمال العنف التي تؤثر على المجتمعات في مختلف أنحاء السودان.

الدعم المجتمعي والتضامن

يمثل التكاتف في أوقات الشدة قيمةً أساسيةً في مجتمعنا. ونحرص على مساندة الأسر في أوقات الفقد من خلال المساعدة في تنظيم مراسم العزاء والجنازات وخدمات التأبين، وتقديم الدعم العملي والمعنوي، وجمع أفراد المجتمع لتكريم أحبتهم واستذكارهم.

كما نعمل على دعم الوافدين الجدد من أبناء مجتمع الزغاوة عند استقرارهم في أستراليا، من خلال الإرشاد، وبناء الروابط المجتمعية، وتقديم المساعدة العملية التي تمكّن الأفراد والأسر من التكيف مع بيئتهم الجديدة ووضع أسسٍ قوية لمستقبلهم.

انطلاقاً من التزامنا بتعزيز العلاقات المجتمعية، نحرص على المشاركة المنتظمة في الفعاليات التي تنظمها المؤسسات الثقافية والمجتمعية والدينية الأخرى. وتسهم هذه المشاركات في تعزيز الشراكات، وتشجيع التبادل الثقافي، والمساهمة في بناء مجتمع أسترالي أكثر شمولاً وترابطاً.
